Annual output of both solar power systems is 570 MWh of green energy. Equivalent to the annual power consumption of 150 families. Generating a total 620 kWp the systems use the SolarAccess Frame developed specifically for large scale, flat roofs with limited bearing capacity. In the immediate vicinity of the brewery six other industrial SolarAccess systems currently
generate a total of some 8 MWp. Already operating a smaller system with 600 m2 of solar panels, since signing the ‘Environmental Charter of Businesses in the Food Industry’ in 1999 Duvel Moorgat has been implementing an active environmental policy that focuses on sustainable business practices. Its new solar power system now gives Duvel Moortgat a highly cost-effective source of green power source.
